The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources's Pennsylvania Trails Advisory Committee is holding their first ever contest for Pennsylvania Trail of the Year. Similar to the River of the Year contest that DCNR and the Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds and Rivers have run since 1983, the Trail of the Year award will honor an outstanding trail with educational events and a commemorative poster.
Want to nominate a Pennsylvania Highlands trail? Look here to get a few ideas from Highlands Mobile, and while you're there, plan a hike to take advantage of the beautiful fall colors starting to appear around the region.
Nominations are due by December 1st. You can nominate your favorite trail by clicking here.
